About 

The Sub-Centre of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University at village Peth, Latur is unique of its kind within the state of Maharashtra for its origin, infrastructure, academic competency and sensitivity towards social responsibility.

The Sub-Centre was initiated in the academic year 2007-08 by the Govt. of Maharashtra on the recommendation of the management of the University and of public demand to encourage, to support and to nourish the students of Latur region in specialized courses after Graduation. Because, otherwise, many of the students of this region discontinue higher studies due to several natural and social reasons and those who are partially potential, they move to other cities to complete their higher education with difficulty. The Govt. of Maharashtra state has provided the required land, financial support to construct the main building and salary grants to 44 staff for the functioning of the Sub-Centre at Latur.

Profile of the School:

School of Management Sciences (SOMS), SRTMUN Sub Center Latur established on 17th September 2007 and enrolled its first MBA program batch in the academic year 2007-2008 with an aim to nurture the rural talent youth of Marathwada region. The Government of Maharashtra has approved this School of Management Sciences for to conduct of very extraordinary and need based academic programs such as

The program is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and students are admitted through Admission Regulatory Authorities (ARA)’s Centralized Admission Process, through Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra for its 60 intake capacity. The school also imparting Non-AICTE/UGC programs such as Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management (PGDDM), Master of Commerce (M.Com.) , Certificate Course in Goods and Service Tax (GST); PhD and M.Phil. in the subject Management Science and students admitted through university PET/CET/General merit list to these programs. These programs are designed to prepare candidates to take up managerial positions in technology oriented global enterprises.
The curriculum provides both the technical skills and business acumen to succeed in today’s constantly changing digital world. Providing quality management education to students and helping them secure a rewarding position in the corporate world are the foremost objectives of this school. We are geared towards creating platform of opportunities that help students in realizing their ambitions. The passion for imparting quality management education has produced hard working, efficient industry ready professionals and great team players. The Institute aims at to provide equal opportunities in higher education to students, and prepare them to make a meaningful contribution in an increasingly complex global society.

The school organizes seminars, workshops and conferences to promote research activities. The school has three recognized Ph. D. Supervisors under whom many Ph.D. students have registered and continuing their research work. The content of MBA course and its evaluation process are research oriented. M.Phil. students are also pursuing their dissertation work. Teachers have various Research Projects to their credits. There is regular participation of teachers and students in research conferences/seminars, and they do publish their research articles in highly circulated journals.
