Courses Offered
Courses : MSW, M.A. Applied Economics M.A. Sociology And M.A. Human Rights There are four semesters in two years PG programme of 20 credits each. In every Semester there is Internal Evaluation and External Evaluation, having equal weightage of 50% each. The Courses are based on CBCS (Choice Based Credit System Pattern in every course eight credits are allotted for discipline elective Course and Eight Credit for Open Elective. The Students have Choice to elect the discipline elective as well as open elective as per their interest.
In all the four P.G. Programmes offered in the School of Social Sciences, every course have course Objectives and Course outcome.

Till 2018 Admissions were given on Merit Basis in all the above subjects but from 2019 onwards online Admission Procedure is adopted by the School. The School will follow all the rules and Regulations.

Programme Objectives of Sociology
Mission and Vision of the Programme:
- To enhance the logical and analytical skill to understand the social issues and problems.
- To inculcate research culture among the students

- The Post Graduate Programme in Sociology is designed to provide advanced sociological knowledge, perspectives and skills to wide cross sections of the learners.
- This course is designed to provide basic and advanced theoretical as well as methodological knowledge of sociology for application.
- This course has also aim to enhance the skills, capabilities and employment opportunities of the students in educational, research institutions and NGOs.

- The Post Graduate Programme in Sociology is designed to provide advanced sociological knowledge, perspectives and skills to wide cross sections of the learners.
- The major aim of this pattern is to provide opportunities to the students going beyond the boundaries of their own discipline and think over the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches and students have choice to select different types of electives as per his or her choice.
- Thus, this course is designed to provide basic and advanced theoretical as well as methodological knowledge of sociology for application.
- This course has also aim to enhance the skills, capabilities and employment opportunities of the students. This course is designed such way which makes the students able to apply sociological knowledge in the different fields such as; teaching, research, NGOs, Public Policies, social sectors and developmental sectors.
- Thus, this course has not only to provide employment opportunities to the students but also to make them rational, logical and critical. The aim of this programme is not only theoretically oriented to the students alone, but also make them able to analyze the social reality by using scientific knowledge of sociology to analyze the social issues with different theoretical and methodological perspectives.

M.A. Human Rights Course Outcome, Program Outcome
Programme Educational Objective:
- It is beneficial to provide students with a set of critical reflection that draw upon the varied global and local social and political contexts in which Human Rights operate.
- The course helps to evolve strategies and schemes for tracking such attitudes like employing bonded labour, practising untachbility and help members to internalize more human and egalitarian approach in their social relations.
- The Master’s Degree serves as a basis for further higher studies in this field such as M.Phil. Ph.D.
- The course also helps to train professional who in the design and management of actions and in decision making process will keep into account the historian, geophysics, economic dimension as the ‘gender’ component and the complexity of the intercultural relations.

- When families are unable to carry out their roles and responsibilities, then social workers must intervene to protect the children from harm. Child welfare social workers ensure that children and youths who have experienced abuse or neglect are supported through a range of services.
- He should know to handle and treat alcohol, tobacco, and other drug addictions through case management, group and individual therapy, family counseling, advocacy for jobs and housing needs, community resource development, education, and policy making.
- He must understand the needs and problems and develop the foresight of or should focuses on the physical, psychological, social, and economic aspects of daily living.
- Advocacy is one of the keystones of social work practice. Social work advocates champion the rights of individuals and communities with the goal of achieving social justice. Community organizing and advocacy work must be finely focused in his work.

M.A. Applied Economics Program adopted choice based credit system (CBCS) pattern. The program comprises four semesters in two years. This program determined some certain objectives which are:
- PE01: Providing in-depth knowledge about the science of economics.
- PE02: to give exposure to the students not only the principals and theories of economics but also an application of economics in real economy.
- PE03: to make capable to accept new emerging disciplines in economics where it creates employability.
- PE04: considering the regional problems of the student, to give proper guidance of market oriented jobs for getting an opportunity in globalized world to student of economics.
