The School of Social Sciences was established in 1994 and has been in the forefront of Academic and Field Innovations in the Marathwada Region, State and Country at large. The School of Social Sciences had been consistently upgrading its curriculum to make it more responsive to the social challenges and trends in the country.

The School is well-known for its Teaching, Research, Extension Activities, Instructional programmes as well as innovative field action projects. The School has highly qualified and field grounded faculty. The faculty is constantly engaged in advance research and field work for the development of Students and the region. Vision Mission and Goals

Our Vision

  • Introducing of new courses and addition of specialization in existing courses like criminology, policy research, advocacy environment etc.
  • Opening of new research centre like Tribal Studies, Area Studies, Minority and Impact study cell etc.

Our Mission

  • Collaboration with research institution, government sponsored institutions such as National and State human rights commission, National and State women commissions and Universities of national repute. 
  • Use of E-learning based on ICT for effective teaching method. 

Goals

  • Developing consultancy with NGOs/ GOs and local organizations. 
  • More emphasis on research projects on social issues and research publication.
  • Participation in various government agencies for survey.

Courses Offered

Courses : MSW, M.A. Applied Economics M.A. Sociology And M.A. Human Rights There are four semesters in two years PG programme of 20 credits each. In every Semester there is Internal Evaluation and External Evaluation, having equal weightage of 50% each. The Courses are based on CBCS (Choice Based Credit System Pattern in every course eight credits are allotted for discipline elective Course and Eight Credit for Open Elective. The Students have Choice to elect the discipline elective as well as open elective as per their interest.

In all the four P.G. Programmes offered in the School of Social Sciences, every course have course Objectives and Course outcome.

Admission Procedure and Fees Structure

Till 2018 Admissions were given on Merit Basis in all the above subjects but from 2019 onwards online Admission Procedure is adopted by the School. The School will follow all the rules and Regulations.

The Fees Structure of all the Courses is given in the University Prospectus.

School of Social Sciences of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University and Yashawantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA) Pune, are jointly preparing District Human Development Report for Beed district. An agreement is signed in this regard between S.R.T.M. University Nanded and YASHADA Pune.
