Program Objectives
Program objectives

Program outcomes
- Theory and Knowledge: Students will have knowledge of the fundamental principle and contemporary practices of chemistry and will be able to use them to investigate, explain and predict new phenomena.
- Laboratory Skills: After completion of a M.Sc. degree, Chemistry majors are able to employ critical thinking and scientific inquiry in the performance, design, interpretation and documentation of laboratory experiments at a level suitable to succeed at an entry- level position in research, academia, or chemical industry.
- Quantitative skills: Chemistry majors are able to interpret and analyze quantitative data.
- Think scientifically: Students acquire an ability to think scientifically, independently and to make rational discussion.
- Promote awareness: To promote an awareness of social, economic, environmental and technological implication of chemistry.

Syllabus - M.Sc First Year Revised 2019
Admission Procedure
M.Sc
Admission to the M. Sc. course is strictly based on merit at the common entrance test (CET) conducted by school. Any candidate who is holding a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry or a general B.Sc. with Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry as an optional subject, from a recognized university is eligible for appearing CET. 70% and 30% of the available seats are categorized for home university and other universities, respectively. Amongst them 30% and 50% seats are reserved for ladies and reserved categories, respectively. In addition through “Over and above quota” 20% and 15% seats are allotted for other state and international students, respectively.
M.Phil
Admissions to the M. Phil. are given through Entrance Examination conducted by this University. Intake capacity of School is 15.
Ph.D.
Admissions to the Ph. D. are given through the PET Examination (Ph. D. Entrance Test) conducted by this University and as per the University rules.
