SRTMU aims to develop strategic action plans to focus its energies and resources on igniting the rural youth by transforming them into thoughtful, productive citizens on a local and global scale through high-quality academic, well-rounded, value added and experiential learning opportunities.

The University offers a wide range of teaching and research programs in Science & Technology, Social Science, Commerce & Management, Language, Literature and Culture Studies including Foreign Languages, Fine & Performing Arts, Journalism, Education, & Sports on its main campus at Nanded, sub centres at Latur and Parbhani, Late Shri. Uttamrao Rathod Tribal Development & Research Centre, Kinwat and at the conducted New Model Degree College, Hingoli. In addition to the well-equipped laboratories in each School, the University has also established a dedicated state-of-the-art Central Instrumentation Centre equipped with high end research instruments enabling the learners to carry research level scientific work. From the current academic year, the University is also initiating a number of student centric activities like, dual degree program, where students shall pursue two simultaneous programs; joint-degree-programs, etc.

Excellent academic atmosphere, student centric learning activities, need-based curriculum up gradation,proven teaching abilities, high research potential, motivated and committed teachers are the strengths of the University. The faculty is actively involved in research in front-line-areas and have proved their potential through a large number of research articles in the journals of highest impacts like the Nature.

Involvement of the faculty in international level projects like, LIGO-India (Laser Interferometry Gravitational wave detection Observatory) funded by NSF, USA is a testimony of their efforts in the direction of international collaboration. As a result the University has established strong academic linkages with the lead research institutes in India and abroad and also with industries, which enable the learners to acquire experiential learning through the research projects, internships, on-job-training, etc. and shall encourage them to enter in the domain of entrepreneurship through its dedicated well-equipped incubation centre and Section 8 Company on its campus. The University is in the process of augmenting the laboratory facilities, ICT enabled smart classrooms through the special assistance received from the Govt of India under the PM-USHA scheme.

Looking at the requirements at global level, the University has made its education system a truly dynamic and has developed pedagogy to enhance the skills, interests, understandings and progress of the learners. In the present scenario it is incumbent for the higher education institutes (HEIs) to shake-up theircurriculum and make it more of the learner-centric, skill oriented so that the learners are oriented for the selfemployment and self-sustaining skills like start-ups. (Datan Science), Geo-informatics, M.A. Industrial Psychology, BCA (Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things), B Sc Data Science, BBA, Bachelor in medical Lab Technology (BMLT), B VocTheater and Acting, Software Development, PG Diploma in Informatics, Hospital Management, Baking and Insurance, Advanced Diploma in Bioinformatics, Diploma in Digital Marketing, Theatre Arts, Folk Art, Certificate courses in Web Designing, Data Analytics, Nutrition and Dietics, Beauty and Cosmetics, Cyber Security, Dance, Music, Entrepreneurship Development and Change Management, Data Interpretation (in online mode), etc. The University also emphasizes on acquisition of knowledge, critical thinking and research innovation by executing a unique and innovative scheme as one school one skill and one school one start up.
